Every year in Ivanovo district the Culinary Festival of Polesye cuisine «Motalskiya prysmakі» is held which allows numerous guests of the Republic and foreign countries to get acquainted with unique traditions and peculiarities of Polesie, try famous sausages and pies of Motol, the best dishes cooked by local women, buy quality various products of local producers.
An international festival of folk art «Folklore without borders» has also become a tradition.

The district has rich past and interesting present. The family of Dostoevskiy is descended from village Dostoevo, in village Vorotsevichi lived and created his wonderful creations an outstanding ethnographer, composer, scholar and musicologist, artist Napoleon Orda.
With the district are connected the names of such outstanding people as the composer Oginskiy and the Russian writer Panferov. In village Mokhro was born and raised our contemporary Aleksey Kuzmich - a talented master of painting and psychological female portraits.
On the territory of the district there are posts of the Russian-Scandinavian Arc of meridian (Struve Arc).
They were given the status of immovable historical and cultural value, included in a UNESCO World Heritage List.
